Average build (M)

Wrap a thin piece of string or paper around your finger (neither too tight nor too loose). Mark the meeting point and measure the length: that is your finger circumference in mm, equal to your French size.

Measuring an existing ring

Place a ring you already own on a ruler and measure its inner diameter in mm. Multiply by π (3.14159) to obtain your finger circumference. Example: 16.8 mm × 3.14 = 52.8 → size 53.

Time of day

Measure your finger in the middle of the day. In the morning, fingers are slightly slimmer; in the evening, more swollen. Avoid measuring at the extremes of the day.

Temperature & season

In hot weather, fingers swell by 1 to 2 sizes. If you hesitate between two sizes, choose the larger one for summer wear.

Width of the ring

The wider the ring, the tighter it feels. For a band of 10 mm or more, take half a size up from your usual size.

Swollen fingers or arthritis

The size must allow the knuckle to pass through easily. Opt for adjustable rings or open designs in the case of arthritis or fluid retention.

Dominant hand

The dominant hand is generally slightly larger. If you wear your ring on the right hand and you are right-handed, take half a size up.
