Band width

The wider a ring (signet ring, band of 8 mm or more), the tighter it feels. A practical rule: add half a size for every additional 4 mm of width. A 12 mm wide signet ring should be ordered 1 size above your usual size.

Signet rings: specifics

Signet rings are worn on the little finger or the ring finger depending on tradition. The little finger is generally 2 to 4 sizes smaller than the ring finger. If you wear a 62 on the ring finger, you will wear a 58-60 on the little finger.

Domed vs flat profile

Bands with a domed (comfort fit) profile are slightly more spacious inside and more comfortable. Flat or angular rings can feel tighter at the same inner diameter. Try both profiles.

Pronounced knuckles

Many men have knuckles wider than the base of the finger. You should then choose the size that lets the knuckle pass easily, even if the ring sits slightly loose at the base, rather than the opposite.

Material and thickness
